Valentine's Day, the day when you're supposed to be all lovey-dovey and express your feelings through fancy dinners and heart-shaped chocolates. But let's be real, it's more fun when the whole family gets involved. So, here's a recipe that's as unique and fun as it is delicious: Valentine's Day Sweetheart Mini Pizzas! Because why not have a little (cream) cheesy fun, literally and figuratively?

Do you give out teacher and neighbor treats every holiday season? This year I feel like we have amassed quite a few people to give said treats, so I needed something quick and easy to put together. And here it is - Orange Cranberry Pancake mix with printable tags!
Admittedly I had AI help me with this recipe, but unlike my Risky Recipe cookbooks, I actually tested this one! I even tested two versions, made my family eat them, and settled on the best tasting one. And they are quite scrumptious!
This recipe will fit in a pint size mason jar, which is the Goldilocks sized neighbor/teacher gift in my opinion - not too big, not too small!
DRY MIX RECIPE:1 c flour1/2 c quick oats 1/4 c dried cranberries 1/8 c granulated sugar 1 TBSP baking powder 1/4 TSP salt 1 TBSP orange zest Orange extract (optional, and to taste) |
If you're using fresh orange zest, pop it in a warm oven or dehydrator for a few minutes to dry it out a bit. This will increase the shelf life of your mix. Also make sure you're using an air-tight container (you don't HAVE to use a mason jar, just make sure it seals tightly). |
You can use our free printable tags to attach to your mix. They say "Warm Wishes and Pancake Mixes!" on the front with a space to write who the gift is from. On the back is all the instructions needed to complete the pancakes.
If you'd rather not use our tags, or want to make the recipe yourself, here are the instructions for the rest of the pancake recipe.
WET INGREDIENTS:2 eggs3/4 c milk 2 TBSP melted butter |
Mix the dry and wet ingredients together. Cook on a preheated griddle set to medium heat. Serve warm with butter, jam, jelly, or syrup! |
These pancakes are delicious for Christmas morning, or ANY morning, and make a fun and different type of teacher or neighbor gift that anyone can appreciate! Everyone loves breakfast food, right?
You'll thoroughly appreciate how easy it is to throw together this gift as well. No need to spend hours baking when you can throw a few ingredients in a jar and tie a tag around it!
To get our free tags, just right click on the image below and select print or save. Instructions for printing are on the image.
Happy holidays and merry gifting!

]]>Ho ho hold up, parents and guardians! It's that time of year again when your little angels (or tiny terrors, we don't judge) start dreaming of sugar plums and, more importantly, the mountain of gifts they expect Santa to haul down the chimney. But let's face it, Santa's magical, not psychic. That's where our Free Printable Christmas Wish List for Kids comes in – because even Santa needs a little help sometimes!
Our wish list comes with a subtle hint of "be realistic, kiddo." It's a gentle nudge to remind them that while Santa's sleigh is big, it's not a cargo ship. This list is a great opportunity for a lesson in gratitude and managing expectations – or, at the very least, a lesson in the art of not asking for a real-life unicorn. Plus it will help them consider others during this time of "Me! Me! Me!"
To get this free printable you just need to right click on the image below and click save or print from the menu that pops up. Feel free to print as many as you need for your kids, but no file sharing please.
If you like this free printable, check out our shop where we have a lot of fun Christmas clipart, plus this really cool Christmas Journal and Activity Book for kids!
]]>Cinnamon and cream cheese is one of my favorite flavor combinations. I use it in a lot of my fall desserts. Throwing some chocolate and oatmeal into the mix seems like the perfect treat to eat while donning your favorite fall sweater!
Here's the catch: I didn't actually want to go to the effort of actually making this fall dessert. So I asked AI to create a recipe for me and then create a picture to go with it. I mean, the recipe APPEARS to be one that would work. And it SOUNDS delicious. So I'm sure it'll be fine, right?
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Cups with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling
Ingredients:
For the Cookie Cups:
For the Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling:
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bottom of a muffin tin.
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is well incorporated before adding the next one. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture into the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
Add Oats and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Form Cookie Cups: Take portions of the cookie dough and press them into the bottom and up the sides of each muffin cup, creating a well in the center. Or use this cool pan that makes creating cookie cups SUPER easy!
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookie cups to cool in the muffin tin.
Prepare Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Fill the Cookie Cups: Once the cookie cups have cooled, carefully remove them from the muffin tin. Spoon the cinnamon cream cheese filling into the wells of the cookie cups.
Optional Step (for extra flair): Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and extra chocolate chips on top of the filling for a decorative touch.
Chill and Serve: Place the filled cookie cups in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the filling to set. Serve and enjoy your creative Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Cups with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling!
Maybe someday I'll get around to making this recipe. Maybe I'll just dream about it tasting really good and drool while not consuming the calories. Because in my mind, they definitely seem tempting.

Yikes. But it's happening anyway.
I feel like I've at least set this year up for less torture than kindergarten was. I did more research, I found some programs I feel more confident about, and I have organized all. the. things.
So, if you've thought of homeschooling and want to see what we have going on, here are some links to the things I've decided to use for 3rd grade this year!
Our homeschool station is set up in the basement. Where the original 80's carpet and the comfy couch live. Because why wouldn't you want to do all your learning on the comfy couch....while you can also day dream about new flooring?
I got the book cart on amazon, I really like it. It's sturdy and holds all of our stuff. What more could you ask for in a cart? I mean, it even has wheels.
I also got a super cute hamburger lap desk on amazon. My son thinks it's the best. And it works great while we lounge and learn at the same time.
I also made him a sticker chart with a billion squares so by the end of the year we can say "WHOA, look at all that stuff we did!!!" And then pat ourselves on the back. I got a super fat pack of stickers for cheap on Amazon.
For science we're using Noeo Physics 1. I love how it's organized, and it looks SUPER easy and fun. And best of all - the whole thing is planned out. Yay for no planning science experiments!!
For math I decided to go with The Good and The Beautiful Math 3. It's a lot, but when I saw how it broke everything down into manageable chunks, and now it seems less overwhelming. (But, I'm not going to lie, the THICK book it comes with is a little intimidating.)
For history/social studies I've decided to read the new Tuttle Twins American History 1 and 2 books with my son and daughter. My daughter is much older and complains about it being little kiddish, but I've read through some of it and thought, "Wow, I didn't know that!" So she'll just have to hold her whining in.
For language arts I'm taking a sort of "Thomas Jefferson Education" approach where we'll read some classic books and then talk and write about it. We're starting with Aesop's Fables. It has awesome pictures and interesting lessons, so a win-win! And when we get done with this one, I've got some other great classics lined up (mostly chapter books, but you never START with the books with no pictures, right?).
Every day, I'll have my son learn one new thing, completely on his own, using one of three books. The Children's Encyclopedia I found at Costco a few months ago. The Highlights Book of How is on their website (along with so much other fun stuff!! I wanted to buy ALL of it). And I got this one from Amazon:
I'm also going to have him read on his own every day. And then after he's done reading, or doing science, or history, or learning a new thing, I'll have him write a couple sentences in some cute little journals I got on Amazon. He can write about what he learned, or what he thought about while learning it.
And that's mostly my plan! I'll probably throw in some art, and field trips, and bible study, and maybe even piano lessons. But I feel like I don't want to overwhelm myself from the start. Especially since I'll be driving a couple teenagers around the world, and keeping up on work, all at the same time.
Although if I could really plan a little something more, I think it would be to have naptime on the comfy couch instead.
I hope this list has been somewhat helpful for someone out there. If not, then at least I can look back on this when my 3rd grader is old and either be like, "That was an awesome year!" Or "Why did I ever think that was a good idea?!"
...either way, HERE WE GO!
]]>One week in and I've realized that my teenagers' organizational skills are even worse than I thought. And while I'm in charge of their overall schedules, I'm making them keep track of some assignments and stuff....for my sanity's sake.
To help with this, I've come up with this super simple, super straight-forward, no fluff, weekly "to do" list for my son.
There is a spot for the important stuff, and a much smaller section for the non-essential tasks (because he doesn't really need that much space to write in "stare at phone"). Every day also has a section to list all the various classes, projects, papers, tasks, and whatever else is needing done. There are boxes to number the tasks in order of importance, or to check off when each task is complete.
The different colors around each section is an organizational hack, so that as he uses it, he's trained his brain to know that thursdays are always purple, and the weekend is always blue.
I printed a bunch of these to make my son a little booklet to last all school year.
Once I had all the pages printed I attached them together by painting some PH neutral PVA adhesive along the edge. I did 2 coats, which was probably unnecessary and ended up a little tacky.
Once it dried, I took off the clips and explained to him how it worked.
He is NOT excited to use this to do list. But he's NOT excited to do anything school related, so I think I could probably hand him a magical organization puppy and he'd still complain.
I told him I wanted a picture of him filling out his first list, and 47 "bruh"s later, he allowed ONE picture of him touching the list. Boy, this school year is going to be loads of fun.
If you'd like to make your own weekly "to do" booklet using this printable, here you go! Just right click on the image below and select print or save from the popup menu.
]]>1. Prepare for Eyeball Assault
Buckle up, because my clipart isn't for the faint of heart. We're talking cuteness levels that might induce uncontrollable "awws" from even the most stoic of individuals. These designs have been scientifically engineered (okay, maybe not scientifically) to magnetize eyeballs and melt hearts. Once sublimated onto various surfaces, you'll have people stopping in their tracks, asking, "Where did you get that adorably awesome thing?"
2. Versatility Schmersatility
You know how some clipart is like that one-trick pony that only works on mugs? Well, not mine! My cuties are the epitome of versatile. They effortlessly transition from T-shirts that scream "I woke up like this cute" to tote bags that shout "I carry groceries with pizzazz." Home décor? Check. Phone cases? Check. Baby onesies? Oh, absolutely check. You name it, my clipart owns it.
3. From Baby Showers to Retirement Parties
My clipart isn't just versatile in terms of application; it's also ageless. Whether you're designing a banner for Grandma Ethel's 90th birthday bash or creating custom coasters for your friend's cat's quinceañera (don't ask), these designs bridge the generation gap. They've got that timeless appeal that says, "I'm cute, and I know it."
4. Playful meets Classy
Ever wanted to balance the elegance of a swanky soirée with the playfulness of a puppy parade? Look no further. My clipart has the uncanny ability to straddle that line between whimsical and tasteful. People will be like, "Wow, that's cute," without secretly wondering if you've regressed back to preschool.
5. Because Mass-Produced is Meh
In a world where everything looks like it rolled off the same assembly line, stand out with a touch of personality. My clipart adds that splash of uniqueness that elevates your creation from generic to "Oh my gosh, did you make this yourself?" Whether you're crafting for pals or profits, that personal touch can't be beaten.
So, there you have it, the sublimation crafting world's best-kept secret: my clipart that's so cute it might just break the cuteness scale. If you're ready to make people's hearts do the macarena with your creations, grab a hold of this clipart and let your sublimation creations begin! Your crafting game will thank you, and so will your inner cuteness connoisseur.
]]>Are you tired of using the same old clipart in your lesson plans, but need a larger selection of black and white art to choose from here at Dorky Doodles?
I believe that learning should be a joyful experience. And while there is a large selection of colored clipart in our shop, we lack a lot of their black and white companions. And I know black and white art is crucial when it comes to making enough copies for an entire class, so I'd like to add to your options!
To start out I would like to take existing colored clipart sets and offer them as black and white sets as well. It takes a bit of time to convert them, so I want to make sure to do the most important ones first! Then, once I get a good selection of companion sets, I can branch out into brand new art!
I value the input of teachers like you, who are on the front lines of education. I want to make sure our clipart meets your needs and enhances your teaching experience. That's why we're inviting you to share your thoughts and suggestions with us.
As a token of my appreciation for your valuable input, I'm offering you a chance to get our clipart for free! Yes, you read that right. By sharing your feedback, you'll not only help me improve my collection, but you'll also receive a complimentary set of clipart that you can use in your classroom!
1. Visit our website and explore our clipart collection
2. Choose your favorite colored clipart sets (the ones you'd like to see in black and white).
3. Fill out the form below to send me your suggestions.
4. I'll email you if I have any questions. Plus I'll email you the clipart set you suggested once it's converted to black and white! (You can get up to 5 black and white clipart sets through your suggestions!)
If I get a lot of feedback, I can't guarantee when you'll get your free clipart set. But I'll work as quickly as possible to make it happen!
Thank you for your input! And keep your eyes open for more Dorky Doodle teacher incentive programs in the future - I have a few things in mind!
]]>This book doesn't just have coloring pages, it has SO MUCH MORE. Like silly summer poems, and word searches, and "finish the doodle" pages, and squirt gun prototype designing (this one at the request of my 8 year old). Your child can be creative and entertained for hours!
Plus it's a great way to get them away from screens, and stop all the "I'm so bored!" commentary. Which is really just a gift to yourself.

]]>Valentine's Day is just around the corner and what better way to get into the spirit of love than by coloring! Whether you're looking for a fun activity to do with your kids or simply want to add some charm to your day, these four Valentine coloring pages are sure to make you smile.
Dangerous Love: Loving a lion might seem like a wild and exciting idea, but let's face it, cuddling with a big cat could lead to a painful ending. Imagine trying to give your lion a hug, only to be met with razor-sharp claws and a fierce roar. Suddenly, your romantic notion of being the king or queen of the jungle is replaced by the harsh reality of being its next meal. So, unless you want to become a human-sized scratching post, it might be best to admire these majestic creatures from a safe distance.....or you could just get this coloring page to satisfy your urge!
Just right click on the image below, and select save or print from the menu, to get this cute Valentine lion coloring page.
Sticky Love: If a honeybee's love was as sticky as their honey, then breaking up would require a heavy-duty solvent and a chisel. Relationships would be a constant struggle between getting unstuck and enjoying the sweet, sweet moments. But hey, at least you wouldn't have to worry about forgetting your significant other when they're permanently attached to your arm. That's love, folks: sticky and full of buzz!
To get this cute Valentine "sticky love" coloring page just right click on the image below and select print or save from the menu that pops up.
Slow Love: If a sloth were to be Cupid, it would take an eternity for him to reach his targets. Forget about the idea of love at first sight, it would be more like love after several lifetimes. Arrows would be launched at a glacial pace, and the poor love-struck individuals would probably have passed on to the great beyond before Cupid's arrow even reached them. This coloring page is perfect for those who love to take it slow.
To get this cute sloth Valentine coloring page just right click on the image below and select print or save from the menu that pops up.
Simple Love: Once upon a time, there was a cute little monster who lived in a world filled with spooky creatures and frightening beasts. Despite being surrounded by all things scary, he had a heart filled with love and a sweet and simple way of showing it. His love for life and all its creatures was contagious, and before long, the once fearsome creatures of the land began to embrace their softer sides and follow in the little monster's footsteps, spreading love and joy wherever they went. So, if you ever find yourself lost in a world of monsters, just remember: there's always a little bit of love hiding under those fur and fangs....and also in this coloring page!

Entertain your kids this Christmas break by making some jumping sELFie puppets! They're pretty easy to make and also fun to play with.
You're going to need:
• The boy and girl elf files that can be found lower in this post
• White cardstock and a printer
• Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
• Scissors
• A thick craft needle
• String
• Metal fasteners
Here are the files you'll need to print. Just right click on the images below and select print or save from the menu that pops up.
Print as many as you need for your kids (just no file sharing or redistribution please). Printing these on cardstock will work much better than using thinner paper. In fact, the thicker the paper, the better!
Have your kids color all the elf pieces.
Then have the kids carefully cut out the elf pieces. Depending on their age, you might need to help them with the arms and legs, because you don't want to have any scissor accidents and lop off an important bit.
Poke holes in all the X's and circles.
Then attach the arms and legs BEHIND the body with the metal fasteners. You'll want to spin those bad boys around quite a few times to make sure they move VERY loosely.
With the arms in the down position, make a loose-ish loop of string between both arms. Repeat for the legs. Then take a longer piece of string and tie it to the arm and leg loops, with the arms still in the down position (this is important, or your puppet won't work quite right).
Then all you have to do is hold your elf by the head and pull the string, then it will raise it's arms, jump a little, and take an elfie!
And if you'd like do more with some fun Elf Clipart, check out our shop!
]]>Are your kids like mine - the second Christmas break from school starts they just want to lay around in their pajamas and stare at screens? And then they ask for snacks every 5 seconds, and say "Mom, I'm bored" about 2,000 times per hour? It's obnoxious.
If you're kids are like that too I have a craft that will keep them occupied for a pretty big chunk of time!! A printable gingerbread toy!
You're going to need:
• The files that can be found lower in this post
• White and/or colored cardstock and a printer
• Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
• Scissors
• A thick craft needle
• String
• Glue or gluestick
• Tissue paper or polyfill stuffing
Here are the files you'll need to print. Just right click on each one and select save or print from the menu that pops up.
How to Make Them:
Print the pages - as many as you need for your kids. I printed all the pages on white cardstock, and then also printed the first two pages on some brown and pink paper so my kids didn't need to color the body pieces.
Have your kids color all the pieces they want to use. They don't need to color the rest, unless they want to. You can make a 2 sided gingerbread man if you want to put a face on both sides.
Have your kids cut out both sides of the body and all their colored pieces.
Then using glue or a gluestick, the kids need to attach all the pieces and let them completely dry.
Take the craft needle and punch through each hole in both of the body pieces. It's easiest to do this by having your kids get on the ground and poking the needle through the paper and the carpet. Or you can put a piece of cardboard behind the paper so they can easily poke through without mangling everything.
We didn't do this step, and I'll tell you what - - having the holes pre-poked would have made things MUCH easier!
Then thread the needle with string and put both sides of the gingerbread man together with all the holes matching up. Then have your child sew around everything EXCEPT FOR A LITTLE BIT AT THE END.
That little gap at the end of sewing is super important because you're going to need to insert the polyfill stuffing or crinkle up some tissue paper to put inside. Once your gingerbread man has been "stuffed" you can finish sewing him up!
My kids got really tired of the sewing part. So here are a couple alternative ways to use these files:
• Just have them decorate the gingerbread bodies with the pieces they colored and sew nothing. This is by far the easiest option.
• Don't worry about stuffing, and using both sides of the gingerbread man. Just have them sew around one side. It will still look festive, make them use their fine motor skills, and keep them occupied for awhile.
The biggest part of this craft is for you to use the time they're occupied to hopefully get a breather....and maybe you can even accomplish something! I mean, don't plan on EITHER of those things, but we can all dream.....

Make a giant finger puppet turkey with your kids this Thanksgiving! They're lots of fun to make for kids of any ages (even really old kids......like your husband). And they come with different accessories so everyone ends up with a turkey unique to them!
The first thing you want to do is print both pages on white cardstock. Regular paper is too wimpy to hold these giant turkeys up, so cardstock is definitely the way to go!
Then have your kids color all the pieces of the turkey they want to use! The body/head and tail pieces are required but they get to decorate each turkey feather however they want! The other pieces don't need to be colored unless they want them on their finished puppets.
After the pieces have been colored cut them out. Make sure to help smaller kids cut out the finger holes. (The sunglasses can be regular glasses if you'd like to cut out the centers.)
Now all that's left is gluing the accessories to each turkey! Glue sticks work great for this (because then you don't have to be so patient in waiting for any kind of liquid glue to dry).
We had a little bit of a drooping problem so I taped a toothpick to the backside to help hold up the turkeys while the kids played with them. It's not necessary though.

They're also silly, and rhyming, and fun, and they don't take very long to read. So if you have one of those kids that's always like "Read it again!!!" You can do that and it won't take very long at all!
My first book "Potato Potato Potato" was one of those middle of the night inspirations. I couldn't sleep. It was 2:00 AM. I started thinking about potatoes. All the thoughts rhymed. And viola, A BOOK WAS BORN!!!
My most recently published book "I Like to Eat Fruit" had some middle of the night tweaking. But mostly it was a daylight hours sort of affair. When I was hungry. Mostly for coconut and coconut flavored food and coconut flavored drinks. And yes, I know that TECHNICALLY coconut isn't really a fruit and more of a fruity tree nut, but come on, we all know it belongs with the fruit! Because it is the very best of all the fruity flavored everything.
If you get a chance to read my books for free on Kindle Unlimited, or buy one of the softcover versions to keep in your library then THANK YOU! And if you'd like to leave me a happy little review on Amazon about it SUPER THANK YOU!!
I really hope everyone enjoys reading these books just as much as I did creating them!

Here's what I did, step by step:
1- Throw a bunch of cute Dorky Doodle Christmas clipart on a page (size them according to the tags they'll be going on - mine are around 2x3").
2- Print the page on white cardstock.
3- Cut around images. No need to get too detailed, no one is going to care about the white border around the image.
4- Cut some tags out of holiday cardstock. Or use some premade tags. Totally up to you! Just make it easy! I used some Dorky Doodle Christmas digital paper for my tags. Just, you know, make sure the tags fit the clipart well. Mine are 2.5x3.25". They're kind of big, but I like to make big things so they work!
5- Create some kind of back tag - I threw mine together super fast with a simple "Merry Christmas" and our family name. You could even handwrite yours. Once again, whatever is easy!
6- Cut out some middle tags that are a little bit larger than your front and back tag pieces.
7- Time to assemble! Attach the clipart to the front tag piece using foam sticky squares. Then attach the front and tag pieces to the middle piece also using those foam sticky squares (it's the 3-D ish layering that makes these look impressive).
8- Punch a hole through the top of the tag, which is slightly tricky because of the layers, but for them to line up perfectly you kind of just need to do this after they're assembled, you know? And it works. Just wiggle it into a hole punch.
And that's it! Attach them to gifts using string or twin or ribbon. Our will be going out with neighbor treats this year!
I made several tags (which you see at the end of the video) but if you're looking for this super cute reindeer clipart, well, here you go!

Here are the step by step instructions on how I made this tag (including links to products I used):
1- Print some of our super cute Christmas clipart on white cardstock. Print the same image at the same size 2-3 times (depending on how many layers you want to have). Also make sure you're printing at the right size - bigger is easier, but also harder to put on tags.
2- Cut out the first image as a whole - this is your base. You can leave a white border around it if you want (it does make the cutting easier, especially with certain clipart) or you can cut right up to the edge of the color. You can also use your cutting machine for this if you're like really good at that. I am not. I can make the files, but using the actual machine is just....I'm scared of it. So I use my hands and some scissors.
3- Cut the next image only on the places you want to have layered - this is your middle. So for the elf I cut out the head including the hat brim, the ball on the end of the hat, arms, and one leg.
4- Cut the next image only on the places you want 3 layers deep - this is your top. Like the brim and on the elf's hat.
5- Use foam sticky squares to attach the first layer onto the base. (The kind I used isn't available anymore, but these 1/4" foam squares look awesome.) Use the squares liberally - it's always good to have things attached well.
6- Stick your first layer on the base.
7- Put foam sticky squares on the base for the top layer, and attach on top of the middle layer.
*For the arms, I used foam on the hands but flat mounting squares for the upper arms. I wanted them to look like they were coming out from her shoulders.*
8- Attach your 3-D creation to a tag or card using more foam sticky squares. I chose to put these on round circles that I printed using some Dorky Doodle digital Christmas paper.
Make sure to watch to the end of the video so you can see the other tag creations I made using this method! Tags like this cute gingerbread man one:

]]>And here are the step by step instructions (includes links to supplies):
1- Print clipart on opaque heat transfer paper using a regular inkjet home printer. (Make sure to print it the right size!) And cut it out carefully. I printed mine a tiny bit smaller than 1.5" and used a circle punch to get it perfectly round.
2- Peel the backing off the paper while your Cricut Easy Press Mini is warming up to the hottest level. Sometimes peeling can be a pain....especially if you've just cut your fingernails.
3- Get a wooden circle that matches the size of your design. I used these 1.5" wooden craft circles. And use some heat resistant tape to make sure the image won't slide under the heat.
4- DON'T FORGET PARCHMENT PAPER! In the video you can see that I was an idiot and did (video recording makes me stupid). But I got lucky because it wasn't stuck to the bottom of my press. Which, honestly, was a giant miracle. So yeah. Parchment paper goes over the design. Every time. Don't be dumb LIKE ME.
5- Press for approximately 20 seconds. Putting the press in a couple different spots will make sure everything is heated enough. Just make sure you don't slide your design while you move your press. That's no bueno and will come out kind of mangled.
6- Peel the tape off the design while it's still hot. The wood may sweat a little on your surface. The heat makes it do that.
7- Paint a wooden snowflake whatever color you desire. I wanted mine to sparkle a little so I used glitter paint (it took multiple coats to get the look I wanted). And let it dry.
8- Using a hot glue gun, adhere the circle to the middle of the snowflake. And then decorate with ribbons, twine, jingle bells, greenery, or whatever you want! Don't forget to add some twin or ribbon for hanging.
Here are some examples of other snowflake ornaments I made using this same method. It's really fun to add some customization to the clipart with a name!
